CSA Programs and What They Mean For Members

CSA programs help protect food safety and quality, farming families, open land, and our agricultural heritage by keeping family farms active and owned by the people who work them. Small farms across the country have turned to the CSA model in order to reconnect people to the food they eat, and the farms that grow it. Building stronger community ties between farmers and consumers helps ensure that high-quality, safe, sustainably grown food continues to make it from our field to your table.

CSA is a Partnership between the Members and the Farmers
At the core of CSA is the idea that members support their farmer by sharing in the inherent risks of agriculture (poor weather, drought, disease, early frost, crop failure and so on) and rewards (the bounty from a good season!).  This means that we will work as hard as we can to provide you with a wide variety of vegetables each week, but it also means that there is no guarantee of quantities or contents in your weekly share.

Member Responsibilities

Stay Informed: Educate yourself about the workings of our CSA program by reading the weekly newsletter, our Facebook page, and our website. The newsletter contains important information about the veggies in your box, how to prepare them, news from the farm and details about the harvest.

Pick Up Your Share: It is important to pick up your share at your chosen pick-up site during the designated pick-up times. If you will be away or otherwise unable to pick up your share, either send someone else to pick it up for you, or call us that day to make other arrangements. Member shares that are not picked up will not be refunded or made up, so please let us know if you need an alternative!

Participate in the Farm: We encourage all of our members to become active participants in the CSA Program and workings of the farm.  You can do this by staying up-to-date with the news from the farm and keeping in touch with us via email, phone, or our page on Facebook.  We love to hear from our members, so p lease contact us with your comments, concerns and suggestions. This is one of the great perks of CSA- you can actually talk to the farmer who grew your food!
